Steven E. Kerr, age 65, passed away at home on September 2, 2014, in Hysham, Montana of natural causes. He was born to Janet (Warren) and Vernon Kerr on June 8, 1949 in Billings, Montana.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1968 and retiring as a Master Sergeant (E8) nineteen years later. His military career took him around the world including Germany, Korea, and two tours in Vietnam. After a lifetime of travel he made his home in Hysham where he had many happy childhood memories and where he enjoyed having a horse and participating in the rural life. Steve owned and operated the Brunswick Bar and Grill for a number of years. As the owner of the Brunswick, he took great pleasure in supporting many local activities and events. He will be remembered fondly for his willingness to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his sister Dar (Steve) Jenkins of Sebastopol, CA; beloved nieces Christine (Jerry), Rachel and Sam Mortimer of Santa Rosa, CA; Stephanie (Christopher), Tyler and Owen Martin of Sacramento, CA; as well as cousins Jim (Marlene) Kerr of Billings, Dan Kerr of Laurel and Del (Shari) Warren and Dora Hanna of Hysham.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, son Steven Jr., and Sister Diane Lopez.
Funeral services will be held at the Baptist Church in Hysham, MT at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2014, with graveside services to follow with full military honors at the Hysham Cemetery.
