Dillon James Welch, 23 passed away June 21, 2014 as the result of a car accident near Gladstone, North Dakota.
Dillon was born April 25, 1991 to Richard and Melissa Welch. He was raised in Hysham where he attended school and graduated in 2009. During his time in school he participated in basketball, football and FFA. Throughout the years there Dillon developed friendships that will forever last a lifetime.
Dillon was a true mama’s boy. He lived life to the fullest, telling his friends he would never live to see the age of 40. Dillon made lifelong friends everywhere he went. He strived to make everyone's life better. He was a sweet, kind, generous individual who would do anything to make you smile. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Dillon loved spending his free time outdoors. He enjoyed Family barbeques at the dam, swimming, hunting, fishing, spotlighting and riding Motorcycles and Four Wheelers. No matter the activity he enjoyed the comradery of good friends. A sense of hard work and perseverance was instilled at a young age from multiple hours working with two of the most inspirational men in his life....his Papa Larry and most important....his Pa. He wasn’t afraid to try anything new and always did it with a smile.
Dillon was currently working in Dickinson, North Dakota for Pathfinder Inspection & Field Services. During his short time there he developed a special bond with his coworkers. His Uplifting personality and Infectious smile and sense of humor made the long hard work days more enjoyable for anyone working with him. Through his employment there and the extreme trust and generosity of his Boss Jeremy Rudolph he was able to achieve a lifelong dream of going to Alaska.
Dillon is survived by his Father, Richard Welch; Mother, Melissa Welch; Sister, Shayna Welch; Aunt Lisa Slattery; Aunt Ivy Slattery; Uncle Mark Metcalf; Aunt Vicky (Don) Rau; Uncle Michael (Brandi) Williams; Uncle Derek (Brandy) Williams; Grandmother Sharon Williams; Grandmother Linda Slattery; Grandmother Wretha Patterson and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in his death by his Grandfather John Welch; Grandfather Larry Williams and his Aunt Lori Metcalf.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Treasure County Shooting Association, Post Office Box 96, Hysham, Montana 59038.
A visitation will be Friday, June 27, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Stevenson and Sons in Forsyth.
With family to receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hysham School in Hysham.
Interment will follow at the Hysham Cemetery in Hysham.
The family would like to invite everyone following the graveside services back to the Hysham School for a reception.
