Evelena Adams Bogunovich 84, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014
She was born in Melvin Colorado on February 17, 1930 to Henry and Ruth Adams. She was raised on Sarpy Creek and attended Burnt Creek country school, Hysham and Custer schools.
She married Emil Bogunovich in 1948 and they farmed until 1962. As a farm wife and mother, she raised a garden and canned the produce, milked cows and sold the cream, and baked all the bread for her family. Her cinnamon rolls and pies were exceptional and family favorites.
In 1962 they moved to Hysham and owned the Double E, an authentic 1960’s soda fountain with fountain drinks, ice cream and pinball machines.
She loved to crochet special gifts for her family. Lace doilies, baby layettes and stocking caps for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were among her favorites.
Her parents, 5 siblings, and great-grandson Rowan preceded her in death.
She is survived by her 4 children, Tom (Barb) Bogunovich, Charlene (Steve) Brown, Wayne Bogunovich, and Daryl (Pam) Bogunovich, 9 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Her family would like to thank Dr. McClave, Dr. Cooper and his staff, Dr. Ganz, and the staff of St. Johns for all the kindness and loving care that our mother received.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 1pm Monday, March 10th at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary.
