Hysham Echo Newspaper

The Hysham Echo Newspaper has been published since Nov. 28, 1911 for Treasure County, Montana.

The Echo has undergone many changes over the years and I was honored to be the editor at the time it turned 100.

Each week I will publish the recipes and Page from the Past and the obits as soon as I receive them.

Will Not Employ Married Women on Teaching Force

At a meeting of the board of education of the Hysham district, held Monday evening, a resolution was passed to the effect that the board would make no contracts with married women as teachers for the school unless they have no other means of support, or in case of emergency in the teaching force.

This idea is becoming daily more popular in the state and probably will be universally adopted later.
At this meeting L. L. Wyrick was made chairman of the board, and the following teachers engaged for the year 1926-27; Mrs. Helen Henrich for the high school; Miss Jeanette Davidson of Twin Bridges, second and third grades; Miss Eunice Miller, primary. (April 15, 1926) Print this post
