Nancy Jane Kolb, 74, of Bozeman passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013. She was born August 3, 1939, in Glasgow, Montana, to Clarence Lewis and Marie (Novacek) Ross.
Nancy moved with her family to Forsyth, Montana in 1943, and graduated from Forsyth High School in 1957. On December 7, 1958, she married Leslie Kolb, and lived on the family farm in Hysham, Montana. Their son, Bruce Kolb, was born January 23, 1960, and their daughter, Anna Marie Kolb, was born December 30, 1961.
Nancy was active in the Presbyterian Church in Hysham, and was a 4-H leader for several years. She worked for the Hysham Echo newspaper as a reporter for 11 years. She loved to bowl and belonged to several leagues over the years. She was also an avid reader and loved mysteries and books on History of all kinds. She also belonged to several local organizations in which she was active for many years. Pinochle was also a favorite pastime. She loved her flower gardens and house plants and yard work. She loved her family and doing things for them.
Her husband, Leslie, passed away January 28, 1987. She later moved to Billings, Montana, where she continued league bowling and Pinochle and her yard work with flowers. In 2001, she moved to Bozeman, Montana, where she helped care for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie; her oldest brother, Clarence Ross; and her sister, Barbara Criteser.
Survivors include son, Bruce (Siena) Kolb of Bozeman; daughter, Anna Marie Kolb of Billings; grandson, Jim Kolb, and granddaughter, Becky Kolb, of Sugar Creek, Ohio; step-grandsons, Brad, Drew, and Ryan (Val) Blanchette; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Kelly, and Tyson Blanchette; her brother, John (Nadine) Ross of Opheim, Montana; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 15, at Hysham Community Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Hysham Memorial Vale Cemetery. A reception at the Hysham Community Center will follow the interment.
