The Hysham Echo Newspaper has been published since Nov. 28, 1911 for Treasure County, Montana.

The Echo has undergone many changes over the years and I was honored to be the editor at the time it turned 100.

Each week I will publish the recipes and Page from the Past and the obits as soon as I receive them.

Laura Belle Ledford Goodale

December 15, 1917 - June 14, 2012

Laura Belle Ledford Goodale passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 on Rimview Square at St. John’s Lutheran Ministries. Laura was born on December 15, 1917 to Esther Jane Bumgarner Ledford and Wilbur Alexander Ledford in Polka County, Georgia. Laura had several occupations in her lifetime including rancher, farmer, secretary, and waitress.

Laura was also the clerk of court for Hysham, Mt. But, Laura always said that the best occupation was being a mother. She had one son John Wilbur Goodale who resides in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Laura is survived by John and his wife, Jan. Laura had three grandchildren and six great grandchildren: Jason of New Mexico; Joel with great grandson Job; and Jennifer and her husband Troy Oehme with great grandchildren Trayson and Jordan (twins), Trevon, Brendon, and Brookelyn.
