The Hysham Echo Newspaper has been published since Nov. 28, 1911 for Treasure County, Montana.

The Echo has undergone many changes over the years and I was honored to be the editor at the time it turned 100.

Each week I will publish the recipes and Page from the Past and the obits as soon as I receive them.

Kamron Smallwood

December 27, 1999 - April 29, 2012

Kamron Smallwood, age 12 of Colstrip, MT passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012. Kamron was born December 27, 1999 in Helena, MT. At age 3 he moved with his mother, Lorraine Thul to Minnesota.

When he was eight years old he returned to Montana to live with his parents, Brian and Amy Smallwood. Kamron attended Pine Butte Elementary School in Colstrip, MT and was a student at Frank Brattin Middle School in Colstrip, MT. Kamron enjoyed many sports including baseball, wrestling, and track.

He enjoyed school, reading, playing video games and loved to swim. He spent time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He was proud of his first buck he shot at age 11. Kamron is survived by his parents, Brian and Amy Smallwood of Colstrip, MT, his sisters, Haley and Taylor Smallwood of Colstrip, his mother, Lorraine Thul of Minnesota, his sisters, Kara Hochhalter of East Helena, MT and Alyssa Hochhalter of Minnesota.

He is also survived by his Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents and Great-Grandparents, too numerous to list individually. Family received friends Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the LDS Church in Colstrip, MT. Funeral Services were held Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church in Colstrip, MT.
