The Hysham Echo Newspaper has been published since Nov. 28, 1911 for Treasure County, Montana.

The Echo has undergone many changes over the years and I was honored to be the editor at the time it turned 100.

Each week I will publish the recipes and Page from the Past and the obits as soon as I receive them.

Dawn Dorothy Worm ~ May 19, 1957 - September 14, 2011


Dawn Dorothy Worm, age 54, of Hysham, MT passed away Wednesday September 14, 2011 at Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth.

Dawn was born May 19, 1957 in Forsyth, MT to Benjamin and Dorit Worm. She attended grade school in Hysham and graduated from Hysham High School in 1975.

After graduating, Dawn worked for a while as a cook at the EE and bartended at Irv’s Bar in Hysham. Then she went to work at the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth, as a CNA, where she was devoted to her patients for 28 years, loving each one as her own, and once was employee of the month. Dawn then worked at the Friendly Corner and Post Office until she couldn’t work.

Dawn traveled to Germany in 1975 visiting grandparents and family, enjoying her time there very much. When she was able, Dawn enjoyed long walks, hiking in the Hysham Hills, doing her gardening and playing with her cats.

She especially enjoyed her niece and nephew, being as devoted an aunt as there ever was. Dawn made many friends and will be missed by them all.

She was preceded in death by her father Benjamin in 1994.

Dawn is survived by her mother Dorit Worm; brothers Benjamin Worm and Christian Worm; sister Tawny Worm as well as niece Jennifer and nephew Lucas all of Hysham.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011 from 9:00am to 6:00pm with Family Receiving Friends from 4:00 to 6:00pm in the Chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral in Forsyth.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hysham with burial following in the Hysham Cemetery.
