Charles “Bruce” Newman, age 74, passed away on July 1, 2011 in Great Falls, MT.
Charles was born on August 31, 1936 the son of Everett and Edna Newman in Forsyth, MT. He was the born 6th of 11 children.
He married Eldana Ostling, at age 22, while stationed in the Army in California. Together they had four children, Leah Mae, Timothy Bruce, Lanette Marie and Daniel Keith who passed away two years ago from an auto accident.
Charles traveled the world while proudly serving in the armed forces. In 1976, Charles retired from the US Army after serving 22 years and then was acquired by the Department of Defense for an additional seven years.
Charles moved back to Montana to live out the rest of his life close to his family.
He is survived by three children, 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren along with his siblings, Wilma (deceased), Shirley, Adrian, Elva Jean (deceased) Willard, Burton, Daryl, Byron, Burdette (deceased) and Louiabelle. He also has numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Our father requested to be cremated. HE IS TRULY MISSED!!!
Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth, MT. Burial followed in the family plot of the Forsyth Cemetery. A luncheon was served following the reception room of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth.
